Rhapsody is inspired by the Melbourne Summer of 2021 that never was. I created this artwork over a number of dreary Summer days in Melbourne, longing for the beautiful warmth and life that comes with a usual Australian Summer. In this piece is hope that the Summer of 2022 can be without fire and without flood - a reprieve from the extremes that are becoming all but commonplace now. Rhapsody was created over a number of days using layers of alcohol inks on Yupo paper. The chosen colours reflect the life and beauty of foliage and fauna on an early Summer's walk through the Royal Botanic Gardens. The final piece is embellished with gold leaf, representing the harsh Summer sun glinting off of Melbourne skyscrapers which overlook the gardens.
 
'Rhapsody' comes framed in raw Tasmanian Oak behind some of the most incredible glass you will ever see - Art Glass! Art Glass is almost completely reflection free so you can see every detail and every piece of texture from every angle! You just want to reach out and touch it because it doesn't look like the glass is there!
